Ricotta Gnocchi
Madigan and I made ricotta gnocchi last weekend. I had never had it and thought we would try it. It was good, and the perfect thing to keep Madigan busy for 45 minutes of cutting dough.
Activities
I'm constantly looking for activities/crafty projects to keep Madigan entertained and get us through the day. Here's one I saw recently. Madigan loved it and I cut enough pieces to do other times as well. I just took scrap pieces of fabric and cut clothes shapes. Madigan then glued them on as drew people with colored pencils. I find I need to introduce new art supplies pretty frequently. She sits at her art table everyday and makes things without us as well. All her supplies are there and she gets little ideas and follows through with them. Right now she loves tape and hangs her pictures up around the house and also wraps things to give to us as gifts. She sits down and makes cards to friends. I melt when she says she's going to sit down and make a 'thank you card'- sweet sweet girl!
p.s. we are trying to pull her hair back everyday but she manages to pull it out everyday as well.... She doesn't always look so miskept.
Stroller Walking Season
The weather has been so Spring like and beautiful the last week or so. High 40's and low 50's seem to do a wonder for us. A friend lent us their baby sling for the chariot stroller so I got to take both kids for a stroller walk. It was so great! I worry Leo may be a little chilly since he doesn't have very much fat on him yet, but he did fine.

Sleeping with Barnaby (again)
Oh yes and of course Barnaby has to present in her bed and as close to her as possible!
Swmming Class
We signed Madigan up for swim class at the City Pool, only a few blocks from our house. She's been talking about swim class for a long time and has been ready for it. Well it turns out she hated it the first day and I thought we were going to withdraw from the class. The other moms kept commenting on how good she was doing (she was in tears and hanging on to the teacher the whole time) and told me their kids were screaming bloody murder at their 1st lessons. So, by the end she looked a little better, but had not cracked a smile the whole time. Kyle and I put smiles on for the walk home and told her how great she did and that it would get easier and funner. This past Saturday, her 2nd class, she did smile a little and didn't really cry at all. I think she just needed a little tough swim class love.
