The Eakles sent Madigan this hat last winter and we're so happy it fits her this year since it has a chin strap...and Mom and Dad LOVE chin straps!

Big Girl Table and Chair

So, this is the highchair we purchased last winter that also converts into a table and chair for older kids... I thought Madigan was big enough- and she loves it this way- but it's too much work right now....She likes to climb all over the chair and the dogs are taller then the table so most of her food gets snatched when we're not looking. Maybe in another month we'll try again.

She's a Toddler Now...

That's right Madigan is considered a toddler now. It wasn't until we spent all of Saturday together that I realized just how much she understands now. All of a sudden it seems that now my talking to her is really talking to her, not at her or for her. And although she can't always express what she wants, somehow we figure it out. (Usually through a series of grunts and/or crying and/or pointing....I mean that's what Madigan does of course.)
We've been working on pointing to body parts, usually in the mornings while we're laying in bed. She seems to have 'nose' down, and 'ear' is on it's way, and 'eye' is just plain fun to poke.
She is so fun to be around these days, but she is also a bear a lot of the time- all the text book signs of toddlerhood- frustration, crying, tantrums, crying..... And also incredibly snuggly and lovey.

Balloons were such a hit at the party the day before, we had to get some for ours.

Hayden helps Madigan open her gifts from "Grandma Sue" and the Zuzulocks.



We broke down and gave her a cupcake (not a real cake!) for her 1st birthday. She seemed pretty pleased with it.








This one is at Paige's Birthdya party- the day before Madigan. It's been fun to watch the two girls grow, and also to have a great mom to talk to about my kid.
