Garage Demolition and Framing

When life goes getting, it really gets going.... We were a little crazy there for a few weeks. The garage demolition (and all it's prep), Kyle starting back to work AND trip planning for Kyle's 2 weeks vacation to CA and back up the coast, all hit us at once. We did a pretty good job keeping up with it all (if I can say so myself).

Leo was in HEAVEN with all the garage demolition and building. We spent many hours at the windows trying to stay out of the way, but still be part of the action. I picked Madigan up from school early so she could see the demolition. I figured I would not be able to describe it very well, even though I could not look away.... It was so exciting and fascinating!

Here's a few before shots of the old garage:Demolition:

Waiting for the concrete. This seemed to take forever since we were dealing with Montana Spring weather:
And ta-da, the new garage and mudroom:
I'll post some more pictures soon. These ones I took for Kyle while he was gone. The mudroom can be accessed from the driveway, the garage and the backyard. We're getting more concrete poured to make a patio outside the mudroom. The upstairs is open right now, has tons of large windows and will eventually have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a huge living space and maybe a kitchenette. (Hint hint: we would love guests!!!)
