Conducting the Train

This Thomas the Tank Engine guy is so expensive! But, good old Mom found a coupon for 40% off at Michaels, which carries Thomas stuff. After many months of looking at thrift stores and garage sales for wooden train tracks, I finally bought some..... And Madigan really likes them. We got the basic Figure 8 set that has a motored Thomas, which is fun for her age right now. Michaels offers a coupon almost every single Sunday paper, so we can get some of the expansion kits, etc. Luckily I got a whole bag of trains at a garage sale for $10!

Breaking News!

Madigan is starting to potty train and sleep in her own bed-all at the same time! Last Saturday Dad put Madigan on the potty seat after we saw her "straining"...and she went #2! Then we put underwear on her and she actually went #1 and didn't tell us about it! Then the next day she went again when wearing her underwear!!!
Also on Saturday she went to sleep in her bed too! Our new routine is to read books and rock in the chair in her room, then she jumps into her own bed and goes to sleep. We wait until she falls asleep before we creep out of the room. She ends up back in our bed, but we're okay with that for now. We're so happy she is willing to even sleep in her room -she used to cling to us and we had to lay down in her toddler bed with her (pretty hard since it's the same length as a crib!)
Yay!, she's totally TWO!

Talking on the phone

Apparently Madigan wants everyone to know she's 2...If you listen, she's saying "I'm 2" over and over again.

Little Black Cat

Here's our little black cat on Halloween. Madigan was really into being a cat and loved her face paint. It was fun to do something she was really into. We headed downtown to trick or treat. It went from 3-6:00 and all the downtown businesses handed out candy. We had 60 degree weather and it was so nice not to be all bundled up while we were out. Madigan got to have a little bit of candy and then it was all over- that's all she wanted to do.
On the way home we stopped at 2 of our neighbors and said hello. They're fond of Madigan and it was nice to stop and show her off. Then we colored at the table while we waited for trick or treaters...
Next year Kyle and I are going to try to not be so lame and dress up-even if it's a little bit.
