Alder Gulch Shortline

Since Virginia City is only about 15 miles from Ennis and we didn't have the dogs, we decided to head over the hill and take the Alder Gulch Shortline railroad ride. It's only about 2 miles and goes from Virginia City to Nevada City. Both cities are old gold towns. They have lots of things open and the rest is preserved for visitors.We dipped our feet in the nearby stream waiting for the official "all aboard".
