Winterfest

We loaded up the family and headed to the fairgrounds this weekend for the Wild West Winterfest. We took a wagon ride, visited farm animals, went to the petting zoo, watched dog races, ate fair food (including cotton candy!). Leo slept the entire 3 hours and missed all the animals. I wonder if he'll be the animal lover that Madigan is???

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours!

I was feeling guilty for not making anything for Madigan, but I figure I get a "pass" this year with the new baby and all. We did however make cupcakes this morning and M got to decorate after I frosted them. Tonight a few friends are coming over for the rescheduled baby "shower" and knitting night.

This is Madigan trying to make a heart with her hands:

First Smiles

Leo smiled for the first real time on Thursday morning. It was 6am and he and I were up nursing. Here's a couple of pictures from bedtime on Saturday night. He's all smiles for Mama, but as soon as Dad walks in it ends. (I'm sure Dad will be making him smile in no time!)

Doesn't he look like such a boy!?

Grandma Pictures

We already feel like Leo is not being photographed as much as his big sister was at this age. Luckily we thought of it and got some pictures of Grandma's visit. We'll need to print some of these and hang them up to remember her visit. Grandma did what Grandmas do and spoiled both of the kids. Leo had some new outfits to wear right away and Madigan was taken shopping for dresses and anything Dora they could find. There was some bribery used to coerce Madigan away from the house some days, but we're ok with that.
While Grandma was here I got to hand Leo off in the mornings and go back to sleep. Any new mom knows what a huge thing that is. Now that she's gone I'm going to have to figure this sleeping thing out myself. Leo isn't too bad and sleeps 3-4 hours intervals. Madigan is back in our bed for now.
We also got lots of yummy meals cooked for us and some were frozen too! I haven't done grocery shopping in over 3 weeks!

**Mom, if your reading this, I want to say THANK YOU so much for coming out and staying as long as you did. We really enjoyed having you here and you were a huge help-- to me especially. I wish you could have stayed even longer. I Love you Mom!**

Leo has changed so much in only a month. He's such a sweet baby when his gas pains aren't bothering him. Madigan has been a little attention starved and has been acting out, but that's all to be expected. She's still into helping us with Leo-changing diapers, folding washclothes, finding his binkie, etc..

Madigan decided to read a book while drinking her afternoon tea:

Grandma teaches Madigan to peel apples to make applesauce and apple butter:
Rice krispie treat making:

This is Leo's favorite position and person. Grandma held him hours without moving and he loved it. Now that his soother is no longer here, we'll have to figure out the magic trick ourselves:

Leo's First Bath and Shower

Leo had his first shower at 3 weeks. He loved it! This is definitely the easiest and quickest way to get our newborn clean.

Wow what a month

Wow, it's been a month already! Leo is almost 5 weeks old. My mom was here for 3 1/2 weeks and I can't believe she is gone already. It seemed like the time just flew by- which tends to happen with kids. Here's a few photos from a few weeks ago.
